Boston Blackie - The Blaine Brothers Pawn Shop Murder

The Blaine Brothers, Paul and John, are having a small argument over the profits of their jointly-owned pawn shop, when Blackie calls on the phone and asked to speak to Paul. Paul wants him to pay a visit to the pawn shop about 3 o'clock this afternoon. Blackie and Mary Weston show up for the meeting, and Paul tells them that he made a thousand dollar loan on a diamond yesterday, only to find out that it is stolen property. Paul wants Blackie to take the diamond to the insurance company, that covers it, to make a deal so that he can get his money back. Blackie says that he will take the job, and will meet Paul at about 3 o'clock tomorrow. As soon as Blackie and Mary leave the pawn shop, they hear a gunshot coming from inside the pawn shop. They both rush in to find Paul, dead on the floor.
