Night Beat - Doctor's Secret

Randy reluctantly goes to Joliet Prison during a rainstorm to cover an execution. He arrives at the prison, shows his press credentials, and is escorted to the warden's office. The warden says "sorry, someone should have notified you. The Governor granted the prisoner a stay of execution about an hour ago."  Just as Randy was getting up to leave, the warden's phone rang. Doctor Graham was calling again. The warden asked Randy to listen in on the extension phone. The doctor, sounding very intoxicated, makes his often repeated request to visit the prison and see the electric chair. The warden tells him that he is welcome to visit. Randy asks the warden "what is this about?"  The warden says "he won't come here, he never does, but he does have a reason. His son was executed in that electric chair".
