Philo Vance - The Money Machine Murder Case

A con-artist named Joe Crane is trying to sell Mrs. Willoughby a "money making machine".  He tells her to put a blank piece of paper into it, turn the crank, and out comes a new one dollar bill. He visited her yesterday, and gave her some one dollar bills to put in the bank. He says "The bank accepted them so they must be real. You give me 10 thousand dollars, and the machine is yours. To test it, she wrote her initials on one piece of paper, and made a new dollar that still had her initials on it, so she buys the machine. The next day, the machine quits working, so she calls the district attorney and reports that she has been swindled. Meanwhile, a guy named Sniffy Edwards shows up to Joe's apartment, looking for his share of the money. Joe decides that he wants to keep it all, so a fight breaks out, and Sniffy ends up dead.
