Richard Diamond, Private Detective - The Bloody Hat Case

Two businessmen, George and Bert, are sitting in a bistro having a few drinks.  George notices a beautiful girl sitting alone at a table, and decides he will ask her to join them for a little while.  Suddenly, the girl's boyfriend Tony shows up and the fight begins. George hits Tony with a lucky punch and knocks him out. Bert gives George his hat to cover his bleeding head, and the girl drives George to her place to get him cleaned up. Tony shows up at her place, threatening to kill both of them.  George grabs her gun, shoots Tony, then makes a hasty retreat.  The next day Richard's friend Hennessy the cab driver finds the gun and the bloody hat in the gutter.  He gives them to Richard, not wanting to get involved with the police.
