The Black Museum - The Sash Cord

Sinjohn Carter came running out of the Mercury Theater to call for an ambulance.  He tells the operator that there has been an accident. Jeff Buckland, a stagehand, was found unconscious in the alley.  Upon arriving, the ambulance doctor determines that Buckland is dead, having been shot through the heart.  The police are called.  A 32 caliber pistol is found in the alley. The stage manager, David Ellis, is questioned.  He says it looks like the pistol used in the play. Blank cartridges are used.  The officer says the bullets are in the pistol now, and one has been fired.
