The Line-Up - Two Young Girls Killed by Hit and Run Driver

Detective Ben Guthrie escorts the two witnesses, Mrs. Atwater and Mr. Bush, to the viewing area at the police line-up for the identification of a hit-and-run driver that killed Elaine Kirk. Mrs. Atwater swears the guilty one is the man in the number two position. Mr. Bush says that number two is not the man he saw at the scene.  Both witnesses give a completely different physical description of the man they saw.  After much arguing, the detective dismisses both witnesses and the man in the line-up, since it is known that he was not guilty. Ben Guthrie then decides that they will have to find who is guilty the old-fashioned way, by using thorough police work. He starts by looking through Elaine Kirk's appointment book.
