The Man Called X - All That Glitters

Ken Thurston is assigned to the Philippines to stop the international black-market in gold being supplied through Macau to Hong Kong.  The gold is being smuggled from the Philippines by way of a Chinese ship named the "Lotus Blossom" that is controlled by a woman known as Madame Hung Shang.  After arriving in Hong Kong, Thurston has managed to secure a cabin onboard a steam ship traveling to Macau.  Entering his cabin, he finds it occupied by a woman named Maria and a dead man with a surgical knife in his throat.
